THE 2026 FIELD GUIDE IS HERERead the trend report

Privacy policy.

Last updated August 7, 2026. Covers afrobabynames.com and the AfroBabyNames mobile app.

The short version

The AfroBabyNames app works without accounts, sign-ups, or tracking. Your swipes, kept names, and preferences live on your phone and nowhere else. The website uses standard analytics to understand which pages people find useful. We never sell personal data — we don’t hold any worth selling.

The app

The AfroBabyNames app stores everything — your language and gender preferences, the names you keep or pass, and any partner list you import — locally on your device. We run no servers for this and cannot see any of it. Partner matching works through a code you share yourself (by message, in person, however you like); nothing passes through us. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Purchases

Premium purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. To recognize a purchase and restore it on a new device, we use RevenueCat, a purchase-management service, which processes an anonymous device identifier and your receipt — not your name, email, or payment information.

The website

afrobabynames.com uses Google Analytics to measure, in aggregate, which pages are visited. This involves cookies and standard device information (browser, rough location, pages viewed). We use it only to understand what to improve. You can block analytics cookies in your browser without losing any part of the site.

Children

AfroBabyNames is made for expecting parents, not for children, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
